Creativity and Artificial Intelligence
The paper describes a transition logic, TL , and a deductive formalism for i t . It shows how various important aspects (such as ramification, qualification, specificity, simultaneity, indeterminism etc.) involved in planning can be modelled in TL in a rather natural way. (The deductive formalism for) TL extends the l inear connection method proposed earlier by the author by embedding the latte...
متن کاملArtificial Intelligence and Scientific Creativity
There has been much recent success for AI systems undertaking creative tasks in scientific domains such as astronomy, biology, medicine, chemistry, physics and mathematics. In many scientific domains, we can build on the wealth of philosophical and computational studies into creative aspects of human intelligence, and use the abstract nature of the data to derive specialist algorithms for disco...
متن کاملSwarm Intelligence and Weak Artificial Creativity
Swarm intelligence via its infamous struggle to identify a suitable balance between exploration and exploitation phases, provides a valuable mean to approach artificial creativity. This work deploys two swarm intelligence algorithms, one simulating the behaviour of birds flocking and fish schooling (Particle Swarm Optimisation) and the other mimicking the behaviour of ants foraging (Stochastic ...
متن کاملThe Lovelace 2.0 Test of Artificial Creativity and Intelligence
Observing that the creation of certain types of artistic artifacts necessitate intelligence, we present the Lovelace 2.0 Test of creativity as an alternative to the Turing Test as a means of determining whether an agent is intelligent. The Lovelace 2.0 Test builds off prior tests of creativity and additionally provides a means of directly comparing the relative intelligence of different agents.
متن کاملCreativity , Intelligence , and Psychoticism
Three studies find Creativity correlates with Psychoticism and Intelligence. With 52 university professors, publication and citation counts correlated 0.26 (P < 0.05) with Psychoticism assessed by a weighted composite of trait ratings made by faculty-peers and 0.40 (P < 0.01) with faculty-peer rated intelligence. Among 69 university professors, an enjoyment of research composite correlated r = ...
